W&AS Bruce was delighted to sponsor the recent Scotland Women’s Over-40s international hockey fixture against England as part of the team’s preparations for this summer’s international competitions.

The sponsorship held particular significance for the firm as Scotland player Alexis Mackay, sister-in-law of W&AS Bruce Partner Selina Mackay, was selected to represent Scotland following a successful trial process.
Alexis, who plays for Highland Hockey Club, has enjoyed a remarkable return to the sport. Having first played hockey in Perth as a teenager, she returned to the game at the age of 40 and has since progressed from club hockey to representing her country on the international stage.
Scotland faced England on 6 June at Southgate Hockey Centre in London before continuing preparations for the Four Nations Tournament and the upcoming Masters Hockey World Cup in Rotterdam later this summer.
Alexis Mackay said:
“Returning to hockey later in life has opened doors I never expected, and being selected to represent Scotland is a tremendous honour. I’m proud to be part of both Highland Hockey Club and the Scotland squad, and I’m very grateful to W&AS Bruce for sponsoring our fixture against England as we prepare for the Four Nations Tournament and World Cup.”
Selina Mackay, Partner at W&AS Bruce, said:

“As Alexis’s sister-in-law, it has been wonderful to watch her return to hockey and progress from club level to representing Scotland internationally.
Being selected to play for your country is an incredible achievement and one that reflects years of commitment and determination. We were proud to sponsor the Scotland v England fixture and everyone at W&AS Bruce wishes Alexis and the Scotland team the very best for the tournaments ahead.”
Everyone at W&AS Bruce would like to congratulate Alexis on her selection and wish both her and the Scotland squad every success in the tournaments ahead.
