An inspiring new exhibition, A Journey Through Dunfermline, is now open at Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries.
Created by local artist Charlie Marshall, the show tells a powerful story of resilience, creativity and community spirit. After decades working as an industrial painter on the Forth Road and Rail Bridges, a serious car accident changed Charlie’s life – leading him back to art as a form of therapy and, ultimately, a new passion.
Three years in the making, the exhibition celebrates the city’s historic heart through striking, thoughtful paintings – many taking months to complete.
We at W&AS Bruce are proud sponsors of this community-led project, delivered in partnership with OnFife. Our support has helped make possible a series of events and activities designed to connect people of all ages with Dunfermline’s rich heritage.

“A Journey Through Dunfermline is more than an exhibition – it’s a heartfelt celebration of local heritage, Charlie’s love for his home, and the power of community.”
